Air­lines-wise exim cargo per­for­mance from Mum­bai (MIAL) Air­port for July 2013

In the first meet­ing of the Steer­ing Group (ap­pointed by the Prime Min­is­ter to ac­cel­er­ate In­fra­struc­ture In­vest­ment) held on July 25, dead­lines have been set for key in­fra­struc­ture pro­ject in­vest­ments, in­clud­ing the Navi Mum­bai Air­port. The dead­lines have been fi­nalised with spe­cific with time­lines. The progress on the in­ter­me­di­ate steps will be mon­i­tored on a reg­u­lar

ba­sis. The dead­lines will en­sure that Min­istries / De­part­ments are clear about not just the over­all dead­line, but also all the in­ter­me­di­ate steps that need to be com­pleted so that there are no slip­pages. The Prin­ci­pal Sec­re­tary to PM has di­rected all Min­istries/ De­part­ments to nom­i­nate a Nodal Of­fi­cer each, of the rank of a Joint Sec­re­tary or above, who will re­port on a weekly ba­sis on the progress of their

depart­ment’s pro­ject(s). The Steer­ing Group has de­cided that the con­struc­tion work of Navi Mum­bai Air­port will be awarded by Jan­uary 31, 2014. The Group also fi­nalised some other key in­fra­struc­ture projects re­lated to trans­port are: Mum­bai rail Cor­ri­dor-by Jan­uary 31, 2014; Eastern Pe­riph­eral Ex­press­way-by De­cem­ber 31, 2013 and Mum­bai Vado­dra Ex­press­wayMarch 1, 2013.
