IATA ap­points new Sr VP for safety and flight op­er­a­tions

The In­ter­na­tional Air Trans­port As­so­ci­a­tion ( IATA) has an­nounced the ap­point­ment of Kevin Hiatt as Se­nior Vice-Pres­i­dent, Safety and Flight Op­er­a­tions. Hiatt will join IATA on Fe­bru­ary 17, 2014 and be based at the As­so­ci­a­tion’s head­quar­ters in Mon­treal. He will suc­ceed Guen­ther Matschnigg, who is re­tir­ing from IATA.

Hiatt joins IATA from the Flight Safety Foun­da­tion ( FSF) with the ca­pac­ity of Pres­i­dent and CEO since Jan­uary 1, 2013, hav­ing joined FSF in 2010 as Ex­ec­u­tive Vice-Pres­i­dent. He was sub­se­quently pro­moted to the po­si­tion of COO. Hiatt pre­vi­ously served as Vice-Pres­i­dent for Cor­po­rate Safety and Se­cu­rity for World Air­ways, and was with Delta Air Lines for 26 years in var­i­ous po­si­tions, in­clud­ing Chief Pi­lot at the Harts­field-Jack­son At­lanta In­ter­na­tional Air­port Pi­lot Crew Base from 2002 to late 2005.
