Adani Petronet Da­hej Port han­dles long­est project cargo

Adani Petronet Da­hej Port, the solid bulk cargo han­dling port on the west coast of In­dia, an­nounced that it has achieved the bench­mark of dis­patch­ing the long­est cargo mea­sur­ing 101.6 me­ter, in a sin­gle piece. The heavy equip­ment project cargo han­dled for Isgec Hi­tachi Zosen was a Quench Tower, weigh­ing 383 tonnes and mea­sur­ing 101.6 me­ter in length, mak­ing it the long­est cargo han­dled at the port. The cargo was trans­ported on a sin­gle ply of 42 SPMT axles from port’s stor­age yard to the South berth of Adani Da­hej Port. The pre­vi­ous record was 91.15 me­ter long, 880 tonnes heavy C2 Split­ter shipped on dumb barge us­ing Ro-Ro Fa­cil­ity of the port to IOCL, Paradip dur­ing May 2013.

The 20 MMTPA port in­fra­struc­ture is ca­pa­ble of han­dling bulk (dry), break bulk and project cargo, with a to­tal berth length of 490 me­ter and equipped with state-of-the-art equip­ment and world-class tech­nol­ogy.
