DHL Supply Chain has announced additional new investment in its important business in India. Since its recent announcement to invest ` 685 crores (USD 110.5 million) to strengthen logistics infrastructure in India, the company has moved swiftly to execute these investments by adding one million sq ft of warehousing space with three multi-user sites in Mumbai, Pune and Gurgaon. Plans are also on track to open additional facilities in Tier 1 cities this year. “According to recent research, the 3PL market in India is growing at a faster pace than its GDP due to increased outsourcing. It will account for 13 per cent of the total logistics market in 2015, up from 6 per cent in 2008,” said Vikas Anand, Managing Director, DHL Supply Chain India.
