DHL in­tro­duces new ve­hi­cle for OEMs

Re­cently, DHL un­veiled new ve­hi­cle mod­els in In­dia and abroad to sup­port Orig­i­nal Equip­ment Man­u­fac­tur­ers (OEMs). In view of the fact that most lo­gis­tics com­pa­nies fo­cus on in­bound to man­u­fac­tur­ing and af­ter-sales lo­gis­tics, the com­pany sources main­tained that DHL’s prod­uct com­prises the en­tire go-to-mar­ket process.

Mean­while, the com­pany’s four busi­ness units in In­dia, DHL Ex­press, DHL Global For­ward­ing, DHL Sup­ply Chain and Blue Dart have de­vel­oped dif­fer­ent lo­gis­tics mod­ules to­gether, which cus­tomers can com­bine or im­ple­ment in­di­vid­u­ally. Ac­cord­ing to Fathi

Tlatli, Pres­i­dent Global Sec­tor Au­to­mo­tive, DHL Global Cus­tomer So­lu­tions & In­no­va­tion the DHL sources, with new prod­uct launches in the au­to­mo­tive sec­tor be­com­ing in­creas­ingly com­plex and costin­ten­sive, DHL - Blue Dart’s fo­cussed au­to­mo­tive so­lu­tion will ben­e­fit com­pa­nies from min­imised sup­ply chain risks, lower third party costs, higher ef­fi­ciency and vis­i­bil­ity. “The aver­age time from the first sketch of a car to mar­ket en­try is 2-3 years and re­quires pre­cise syn­chro­ni­sa­tion amongst sev­eral in­volved par­ties, more of­ten, not lo­cated even in the same con­ti­nent,” he said.

The new ser­vice fo­cusses on three stages of ve­hi­cle evo­lu­tion and mar­ket­ing: In the re­search and de­vel­op­ment phase— DHL - Blue Dart sup­port ship­ment of pre-pro­duc­tion mod­els by of­fer­ing spe­cialised pack­ag­ing of pro­to­types, cus­toms process man­age­ment and trans­porta­tion with high se­cu­rity and con­fi­den­tial­ity.
