AAI’s Air Cargo complex at Bajpe gets cold storage facility
Acold storage facility has been set up at air cargo complex of Airport Authority of India (AAI) at Bajpe near Mangalore. Upma
Srivastava, Chief Vigilance Officer, AAI, New Delhi, inaugurated the 5 metric tonnes facility at the old terminal building at Bajpe in May 2014. This facility has been installed at a cost of Rs 10 lakh with assistance from Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA).
The main aim of AAI in setting up this facility is to promote import and export of agricultural products from the air cargo complex that is on the Mangalore International Airport premises. The cold storage is 17’x12’x10’ in dimension. This facility can be utilised for storing of fruits, vegetables, flowers, marine products and other fresh food items over a long period for import as well as for export purposes,
