AAI’s Air Cargo com­plex at Ba­jpe gets cold stor­age fa­cil­ity

Acold stor­age fa­cil­ity has been set up at air cargo com­plex of Air­port Author­ity of In­dia (AAI) at Ba­jpe near Man­ga­lore. Upma

Sri­vas­tava, Chief Vig­i­lance Of­fi­cer, AAI, New Delhi, in­au­gu­rated the 5 met­ric tonnes fa­cil­ity at the old ter­mi­nal build­ing at Ba­jpe in May 2014. This fa­cil­ity has been in­stalled at a cost of Rs 10 lakh with as­sis­tance from Agri­cul­tural and Pro­cessed Food Prod­ucts Ex­port De­vel­op­ment Author­ity (APEDA).

The main aim of AAI in set­ting up this fa­cil­ity is to pro­mote im­port and ex­port of agri­cul­tural prod­ucts from the air cargo com­plex that is on the Man­ga­lore In­ter­na­tional Air­port premises. The cold stor­age is 17’x12’x10’ in di­men­sion. This fa­cil­ity can be utilised for stor­ing of fruits, veg­eta­bles, flow­ers, ma­rine prod­ucts and other fresh food items over a long pe­riod for im­port as well as for ex­port pur­poses,
