DHL Express opens two more service centres
The logistics company inaugurated two more service centres in Ludhiana and Sriperumbudur. This will give the company same-day delivery facility to nearby areas of the two cities.
DHL Express recently inaugurated a modernised service centre facility in Sriperumbudur. The new service centre is spread over 8,000 square feet, and has a capacity to handle a volume of over 100,000 shipments a year. The facil- ity was inaugurated by RS Subramanian, SVP & MD, DHL Express India, George Cherian, MD, Raj Impex and G. Jayakumar, MD, Amalgamations Valeo Clutch Private Limited.
On the occasion, Subramanian said, “DHL has had presence in Chennai since over 25 years and was servicing the Sriperumbudur area through the Chennai service centre.
Over the past few years, due to rapid industrialisation, Sriperumbudur has grown in prominence as an auto and manufacturing hub.”
The Service Centre facility will serve as DHL's local pickup, delivery and sorting centre and will also cater to customer requirements of same day delivery in Sembarmbakkam, Meelnalathur, Irrugatukottai, Padappai, Gowrivakkam, Sunguvachathram, Madambakkam, Maraimalai Nagar and Mahindra World City. All Sriperumbudur shipments will now get the same-day connection to Chennai.
The Company also inaugurated an enhanced Service Centre facility in Ludhiana. The new Service Centre is spread over 3,200 square feet and has a capacity to handle a volume of over 100,000 shipments a year. The facility was inaugurated by RS Subramanian and Mridula Jain, CMD Shingora Textile Ltd and Chairperson Shawl Club, Ludhiana.
Like the one in Sriperumbudur, the new service centre will serve as DHL's local pickup, delivery and sorting centre and will also cater to customer requirements of same day delivery in Jalandhar, Phagwara, Amritsar, Mandi, Gobindgarh and Moga. All Ludhiana shipments now get the same day connection to Delhi.
