IWS - Form­ing a con­nect be­tween the con­sumers and the in­dus­try

The re­cently or­gan­ised In­dia Ware­hous­ing Show in Pra­gati Maidan, New Delhi pro­vided the right kind of op­por­tu­nity to the peo­ple vis­it­ing the show. A to­tal of 7,818 vis­i­tors vis­ited the trade show and wit­nessed plethora of tech­nolo­gies de­vel­oped for the Lo­gis­tics & Ware­hous­ing in­dus­try. CARGOTALK took this op­por­tu­nity to talk to some in­dus­try peo­ple to un­der­stand what they have to say on this edi­tion of Ware­hous­ing show. “It’s a sec­ond year in a row for us and this year, we have launched Fork­lift AGV used for ma­te­rial han­dling pur­poses in the ware­houses. This is an au­to­mated ma­chine us­ing sen­sors for op­er­a­tions, and thus re­duc­ing the use of man­power. A first of its kind ma­chine, it has be­come our USP; also we are the only man­u­fac­turer of this kind of fa­cil­ity in In­dia.”

The only chal­lenges that we have en­coun­tered till now are in­fra­struc­ture and the reg­u­la­tory hur­dles.”

We can cater up to 20 me­ters of height and we give 5 years of guar­an­tee on our light­ing prod­ucts.”

Ltd. “The show is ex­tremely good and we are get­ting some very good re­sponses and queries for our prod­ucts. We deal in ma­te­rial han­dling equip­ment and have re­cently launched bat­tery op­er­ated pal­let truck on the de­mand of the peo­ple. With this truck, you can drive with the bat­tery and you can charge the bat­tery for 4 hours and then it runs for around 8- 9 hours.”

We have launched a new prod­uct called Plas­tic pal­ette but for In­dian mar­kets, Plas­tic pal­ette is still a very new thing.”

It’s a sur­prise no one has talked about com­pli­ance la­bel­ing. If the en­tire in­dus­try uses the same type of la­bel, it will im­prove hu­man ef­fi­ciency.”

The stall and demo hope­fully has at­tracted a few more clients to­wards us. This year, peo­ple are ex­plor­ing the ex­hi­bi­tion and tak­ing in­ter­est into a prod­uct that we have been ex­hibit­ing for the last 7-8 years and are ac­tu­ally in­quir­ing about this prod­uct. Peo­ple here in In­dia still need to be made aware on what they are com­ing for.”

We are into ware­hous­ing and lo­gis­tics busi­ness since past 3 decades in Mumbai/Pan­vel/Taloja belt and 25% gen­eral cargo and 75% is agro com­modi­ties. We are fac­ing many is­sues and could not get proper guide­lines when we started our ware­house. Due to the less guid­ance, many agro com­mod­ity, many ware­houses are di­vert­ing into gen­eral cargo ware­house. We want to pro­mote agro ware­houses and so we need guid­ance over the same.”
