Faster air cargo clearance
The PHD-GMR Round Table Talk on ‘Indian Air Cargo-Future Outlook’ chalked out important points for the Indian air cargo industry . Attended by the aviation & cargo industry experts, the panel discussed the air-freight station policy as well as the clearance of air cargo for smooth functioning at airports.
In a roundtable talk on Indian air cargo organised by the PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry and the GMR Group recently, the civil aviation ministry has recently allowed airport developers to clear air cargo, provided the required customs- related formalities are completed as per established rules & regulations, said Ashok

A special address was given by Canan Celebioglu, Vice Chairperson, Celebi Holdings, Istanbul, Turkey, sought to build a sustained partnership for the mutual growth of the civil aviation sectors of Turkey and India, so that both the nations can benefit in an equitable and fair manner.
The discussion attended by the aviation and cargo industry experts also focussed on making the procedure of cargo shipment easier by going paperless. Lavasa also informed that, while the air-freight station policy would be announced within a month’s time to enable airport developers to clear such cargo into 24x7 service mode and, the work was on for issuance of aviation security circular within the concerned stake holders of aviation sector, including its regulator.
Alok B Shriram, SVP, PHD Chamber, complemented the Finance Minister for announcing a number of sops to stoke growth in the Indian civil sector in its Budget for the current fiscal year, hoping that the Indian air cargo industry would be able to take full advantage of them.
