New ter­mi­nal at Ham­riyah

The ter­mi­nal will have fa­cil­i­ties to store chem­i­cals, petro­chem­i­cals, base oils, bi­tu­men, veg­etable oil, gases and will also pro­vide fa­cil­i­ties like dis­til­la­tion, ex­trac­tion, and hy­dro­gena­tion.

Hazel In­ter­na­tional FZE (HIF), owned by Ver­i­tas (In­dia) Limited (VIL), will invest US$126.45 mil­lion (Dh464 mil­lion) to open a fa­cil­ity which will pro­vide com­plete end-toend so­lu­tion for liq­uid and solid cargo han­dling at Ham­riyah Free Zone Au­thor­ity (HFZA).

The ter­mi­nal will have fa­cil­i­ties to store chem­i­cals, petro­chem­i­cals, base oils, bi­tu­men, veg­etable oil, gases, liquified gases, ethanol, bio­fu­els, and edi­ble oils. Be­sides stor­age, the ter­mi­nal will also pro­vide fa­cil­i­ties like dis­til­la­tion, ex­trac­tion, hy­dro­gena­tion and frac­tion­a­tion. "We wel­come Hazel In­ter­na­tional to our fra­ter­nity. Our goal is cre­at­ing a ro­bust business en­vi­ron­ment by meet­ing the needs and de­mands of its in­vestors. To­day HFZA has emerged as the sec­ond largest hub for petro­chem­i­cals, oil & gas bunker­ing and stor­age in the UAE," said Saud Al Mazrouei.

HIF has been awarded 30,000 square me­ters of land in the tank ter­mi­nal area of HFZA to de­velop the in­te­grated petro­chem­i­cals and chem­i­cals/han­dling and pro­cess­ing fa­cil­ity. "This will be a state-of-art ter­mi­nal. No ter­mi­nal in the Mid­dle East has this ca­pa­bil­ity. This fa­cil­ity of dis­til­la­tion will be unique and first of its kind in the re­gion" said S Mukher­jee, Ter­mi­nal Man­ager for the Group.

"Our pri­mary ob­jec­tive is to pro­vide com­plete end- to- end so­lu­tion for liq­uid and solid cargo han­dling at Ham­riyah port in­clud­ing fully in­te­grated drum­ming ser­vices, re-pack­ag­ing ser­vices and pro­cess­ing of liq­uids through dis­til­la­tion, blend­ing, and pro­vid­ing com­plete state of the art ware­hous­ing sys­tem to cater to," added Mukher­jee.

"We have ob­tained the nec­es­sary li­censes and the soil in­ves­ti­ga­tion, foun­da­tion de­sign and tank de­signs have been com­pleted. We have ap­pointed Tata Con­sult­ing En­gi­neers (TCE) as the over­seas con­sul­tant and Cap­i­tal En­gi­neer­ing & Con­sul­tancy as the lo­cal con­sul­tant and Tata Projects Limited as the Con­trac­tor for the said project", added Mukher­jee.
