MV Hol­sa­tia starts weekly ser­vice to Chen­nai Port

The weekly ser­vice is sched­uled ev­ery Thurs­day and will de­ploy 3 × 3600 TEUs & 2 × 4500 TEUs ca­pac­ity ves­sels.

MV Hol­sa­tia op­er­ated by Si­mat­ech Shipping made its maiden visit to Chen­nai as a part of its weekly ser­vices.

The ves­sel on its first visit car­ried im­ports of 2200 TEUs for dis­charge com­pris­ing ma­jor im­port com­modi­ties like elec­tronic goods, fur­ni­ture, etc. The ex­port vol­ume summed up to 1800 TEUs and com­prised of com­modi­ties be­ing mainly gran­ites, agro prod­ucts and min­er­als.

The weekly ser­vice is sched­uled to call at Chen­nai ev­ery Thurs­day and sail out on Satur­day. IFX ser­vice will de­ploy 3 × 3600 TEUs & 2 × 4500 TEUs ca­pac­ity ves­sels.

Jeyaku­mar, Deputy Chair­man, Chen­nai Port Trust said, “This event marks the cross­ing of another mile­stone in Chen­nai port’s path to be­com­ing a global hub and caters to the as­pi­ra­tions of the Exim trade of the re­gion.”

En­narasu Karune­san, CEO & Di­rec­tor, DP World Chen­nai wel­comed Si­mat­ech Shipping and their agent Green­ways Shipping and ex­pressed de­light at the av­er­age in­crease of ves­sel ca­pac­ity and rel­e­vant par­cel sizes be­ing han­dled by CCTL due to the in­duc­tion of var­i­ous di­rect ser­vices. Con­clud­ing on an ap­pre­cia­tive note of the con­tem­po­rary aware­ness of EXIM trade stake­hold­ers in the re­gion he thanked them for the re­sul­tant support ex­tended to CCTL.
