Aviation policy date to be announced
A new policy that is expected to focus on the upliftment of the much ignored cargo sector is likely to be unveiled by the government before May 15, 2015. “We strive to put in place the new aviation policy before May 15,” says,
Mahesh Sharma, Minister of State for Civil Aviation.
Last November, the Centre had unveiled the draft of the Civil Aviation policy and circulated it among all stakeholders. The draft policy proposes to enhance regional air connectivity, develop six major metro airports as international hubs, create more airports through PPP mode, air cargo connectivity and rationalise jet fuel cost.
