Tyvek® Cargo Cov­ers: Pro­tec­tion for pharma

Tyvek® Cargo Cov­ers pro­vide a quick, easy but very ef­fec­tive way of pro­tect­ing pharma in­gre­di­ents from the po­ten­tially dam­ag­ing ef­fects of high am­bi­ent tem­per­a­tures, so­lar ra­di­a­tion and air­borne con­tam­i­na­tion.

DuPont will be show­cas­ing the Tyvek® range of Cargo Cov­ers at CPhI In­dia. Tyvek® Cargo Cov­ers sig­nif­i­cantly re­duce the risk of high tem­per­a­tures and pro­vide a high level of pas­sive ther­mal pro­tec­tion from so­lar ra­di­a­tion dur­ing ex­ter­nal han­dling pro­ce­dures. “This is widely ac­knowl­edged as the weak­est link in the pharma cargo cool chain,” says Shyam Pat­naik, Tyvek® Leader, DuPont In­dia. “In th­ese cir­cum­stances Tyvek® cov­ers have been shown to re­duce pal­let con­tent tem­per­a­tures by as much as 15 de­grees Cel­sius, min­imis­ing the ef­fects of so­lar gain.”

Man­u­fac­tured Tyvek® branded in In­dia, the cargo cov­ers (CRT) drugs, Tyvek® cov­ers can be used to pro­vide sec­ondary ther­mal pro­tec­tion for mer­chan­dise within heat-in­su­lated pas­sive con­tain­ers and for cloak­ing the out­side of rigid ULD con­tain­ers to pre­vent un­nec­es­sary heat buildup dur­ing ex­po­sures to di­rect sun­shine.

Strong and tear-re­sis­tant, Tyvek® cov­ers give ex­cel­lent pro­tec­tion from tam­per­ing, pre­cip­i­ta­tion, air­borne con­tam­i­na­tion and de­bris. They also help pre­vent cold-sen­si­tive mer­chan­dise from freez­ing in sub-zero tem­per­a­ture con­di­tions, a sce­nario that can se­ri­ously com­pro­mise prod­uct safety and qual­ity.
