Gan­gavaram Port dis­trib­utes wa­ter

Gan­gavaram Port’s deep­est and multi-pur­pose port has started a drink­ing wa­ter dis­tri­bu­tion pro­gramme for the nearby vil­lages of Sri­na­gar colony and Gan­gavaram which are hit by wa­ter short­age. Due to on­go­ing heat wave Vizag city has been suf­fer­ing wa­ter is­sues with lo­cal peo­ple not hav­ing ac­cess to proper drink­ing wa­ter fa­cil­i­ties. The ini­tia­tive which is a part of Gan­gavaram Port CSR pro­gramme is a step to pro­vide es­sen­tial el­e­ments like drink­ing wa­ter to the neigh­bour­ing vil­lages.

Ac­cord­ing to Gan­gavaram Port man­age­ment, “With the in­au­gu­ra­tion of Wa­ter Dis­tri­bu­tion pro­gramme we aim to sup­port the lo­cal vil­lagers by pro­vid­ing free drink­ing wa­ter and help them meet their ba­sic re­quire­ments”.

The pro­gramme was in­au­gu­rated by Palla Srini­vasa Rao, MLA, Ga­juwaka con­stituency at Sri­na­gar colony and presided over by Tip­pala Gurumurthy Reddy (Ex MLA), Cheekati Appa Rao and other vil­lage el­ders. K Raja Rat­nam Naidu, Se­nior Vice Pres­i­dent, and L P S Ramu Naidu, Vice Pres­i­dent, Gan­gavaram Port were also present at the oc­ca­sion.
