Ja­pan’s Kaneka to set up poly­olefin pro­duc­tion plant in Thai­land

Corp, Ja­pan, is setting up a new plant to pro­duce ex­panded poly­olefin foam (un­der the prod­uct names EPERAN and EPERAN-PP) in He­maraj East­ern Se­aboard In­dus­trial Es­tate, Ray­ong, Thai­land. It aims at a fur­ther busi­ness ex­pan­sion as well as meet­ing the in­creas­ing de­mand in the South­east Asia and In­dia re­gion.

Kaneka will in­vest ap­prox­i­mately 2 bil­lion yen to start op­er­a­tion ca­pa­ble of pro­duc­ing 3,000 met­ric tons per year (m.t./yr) of prod­ucts in Septem­ber 2018. The pro­duc­tion ca­pac­ity in the re­gion will be over 6,000 m.t./yr, to­gether with prod­ucts pro­duced in the ex­ist­ing fa­cil­i­ties in Malaysia (Kaneka Eperan Sdn. Bhd.)
