UPL to set up 6000 cr agro chem­i­cal plant in Da­hej

Phos­pho­rous Ltd (UPL) an­nounced its plans to in­vest ` 6,000 crore to set up a plant to man­u­fac­ture agro-chem­i­cals and in­ter­me­di­ates at Da­hej, South Gu­jarat.

The in­vest­ment by the com­pany is ex­pected to boost busi­ness for the ex­ist­ing chem­i­cals play­ers in the re­gion and cre­ate new em­ploy­ment op­por­tu­ni­ties. The com­pany signed a mem­o­ran­dum of un­der­stand­ing (MoU) with the Gu­jarat gov­ern­ment for the project, which will cre­ate em­ploy­ment op­por­tu­ni­ties for 10,000 peo­ple di­rectly and in­di­rectly.

The pro­posed plant of 600,000 sq ft will be set up at Da­hej-3 in­dus­trial es­tate un­der the Gu­jarat In­dus­trial De­vel­op­ment Cor­po­ra­tion (GIDC) in Bharuch dis­trict.
