Thyssenkrupp re­ceives con­tract for caus­tic soda plant

In­dus­trial So­lu­tions (In­dia) has won a con­tract from Kutch Chem­i­cals Lim­ited, the Gu­jarat- based spe­cial­ity chem­i­cals ma­jor. The con­tract is for its grass­roots 421 tpd (100% NaOH) mem­brane cell caus­tic soda-chlo­rine fa­cil­i­ties in Kutch, Gu­jarat. Thyssenkrupp will pro­vide engi­neer­ing ser­vices, con­struc­tion su­per­vi­sion ser­vices and sup­ply pro­pri­etary equip­ment for the new fa­cil­ity.

Start-up of the plant is sched­uled for March 2019. The plant will de­ploy Thyssenkrupp’s lead­ing mem­brane cell tech­nol­ogy. At the heart of the plant will be the group’s lat­est zero-gap, en­ergy and emis­sion-friendly 6B Gen­er­a­tion Cell El­e­ments from Thyssenkrupp - Uhde Chlo­rine Engi­neers.

The scope of ser­vices in­cludes ba­sic and de­tail engi­neer­ing, proj- ect man­age­ment ser­vices in­clud­ing tech­ni­cal pro­cure­ment, pro­pri­etary sup­plies, su­per­vi­sion dur­ing civil and struc­tural erec­tion work as well as su­per­vi­sion ser­vices dur­ing start-up, com­mis­sion­ing and per­for­mance test run. Kutch Chem­i­cals pro­poses to use the chlo­rine man­u­fac­tured in the plant for its spe­cial­ity chem­i­cals, while it will sell the caus­tic soda over the counter.
