Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids are the essential fatty acids. As these fatty acids cannot be made by the body, they have to be consumed through diet. Omega 6 fatty acids are available in the vegetable cooking oils, and Omega 3 fatty acids are present in non-vegetarian sources, including sh and egg to some extent. With regard to the vegetarian sources, Omega 3 is present in chia seeds, ax seeds, pumpkin seeds, sunower, almonds and walnuts. Omega 3 fatty acids are anti-inammatory, which reduce bad cholesterol, improve skin texture, effective in controlling Type 2 diabetes, and improve hair loss and dry, brittle hair. It also helps in improving the brain functioning. Hence, it is said that eating soaked almonds helps in sharpening the brain.
