FTII to Start Course on Visual Effects & Finishing
The Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) recently announced a 12-week residential foundation course on visual effects and nishing. Designed to meet the industry requirements, the full-time course has an intake of only 10 and will be conducted on the Pune campus from September 18. The minimum qualication to join the course is HSC (Class XII). Anyone with basic understanding of and interest in drawing or visual effects or lms can apply, an FTII statement stated. The deadline for receipt of application form is August 25. The participants will be trained in the fundamentals of visual effects (VFX0) for television and lms, which will open opportunities for them to work with professionals in the animation and VFX industry. They will be exposed to various tools and processes to understand the work process behind creating VFX. The participants will get an opportunity to develop an idea for VFX and participate in green screen (chroma) shooting process. The course will provide hands-on training in various software. “Visual effects and animation have become an inseparable part of lms, television and internet, as it makes the platform more interesting, informative and effective. This requires aesthetic skills, visual sense and knowhow of software to handle high-end equipment, which this course will provide. Besides the strong content packed into this course, a unique feature is the practical experience of pre-production, production and post-production that participants will be exposed to. Regular and frequent mentorship by leading experts will attune the participants to the current industry trends,” said Bhupendra Kainthola, Director, FTII, Pune.
