With big dreams of ruling the ramps, the handsome hunks and beautiful belles, within the age group of 16-24, gathered at the Citadel office on the anticipated day of the auditions to prove their competence and stun the esteemed panel of judges. Defining panache, the contestants carried themselves with self-confidence, and wittily replied to each question thrown at them. Before the start of the auditioning process, the bustling energy was evident at the office, which is quiet and peaceful otherwise. The contestants were seen filling the forms, marking specifications of t hemselves. The prompt t eam of NIEM students were busy co-ordinating and helping them with small queries and running zero-hour errands, not only for the auditions, but also for the curtain raiser press conference that was to be held the same evening at Hotel Pride. The judges too were well on time and took their seats promptly. There was a flow of excitement all around as the judges and the participants both geared up for the auditions! As the time to face the jury came nearer and nearer, the atmosphere turned anxious. Each of the contestants geared up to put their best foot forward and make a lasting impression on the minds of the evaluators. There were last minute touch-ups, the final looks in the mirrors, and a deep-breath before facing the panel. The row of judges included esteemed names from the media and fashion industries. The jury members comprised of Shweta Raj (Miss Commonwealth Asia Pacific 2016), Dr Azeem Khoja (Cosmetic Dentist), Dr Shaili Shah (of The Wedding Clinic), Lovell Prabhu (Show Director), Nari Hira (Chairman, Magna Publishing), Ashok Dhamankar (Advertising Director, Magna Publishing) and Nishad Shinde (Editor, Citadel). The participants made an appearance one by one and introduced themselves, with oozing grace. Then began the lively give and take of words as the jury asked varied questions and the participants proved themselves with cheerful, jolly and clever responses. Nowhere was there a trace of nervousness on their faces as they presented their best selves. Indeed, selecting the crème-de-la-crème was one colossal task! After much contemplation, fourteen finalists were chosen, who’d grace the grand night of the finale! Among the men were Prabhuraj Jadon, Naved Shaikh, Prathamesh Sathe, Siddhant Roy, Youginder Singh, Praveen Purena and Rohan Sonawane. The female finalists were Shirin Kermani, Priya Singh, Swarupa Ambad, Shradha Hirve, Nimisha Katare, Tashi Chombal Dorji and Geetika Saraf. All the hustle-bustle came to an end with photo-ops of the judges and shortlisted contestants...
