Pune Rail­way Sta­tion Cuts Park­ing Charges for Two-Wheel­ers

Af­ter re­ceiv­ing many com­plaints from pas­sen­gers at the Pune rail­way sta­tion re­gard­ing the high park­ing charge for two-wheel­ers, the rail­way ad­min­is­tra­tion has re­duced it from ` 20 to ` 10 for the first two hours. Pas­sen­gers and ac­tivists have been com­plain­ing about the ‘ex­or­bi­tant’ park­ing fee for the past two years. How­ever, pas­sen­gers trav­el­ling to Mumbai have to pay around ` 120 for over 12 hours. Vis­i­tors have also al­leged that the park­ing con­trac­tor ‘ex­torted’ ` 20 from the vis­i­tors who reach the sta­tion just to pick up or drop guests.
