Pune Dis­trict to Con­struct 13 New Rail­way Bridges

Pune Dis­trict has re­ceived a green nod from the Union Min­istry for Road Trans­port, High­ways and Ship­ping for con­struct­ing 13 new rail­way bridges in Pune dis­trict. The

de­ci­sion was an­nounced by Union Min­is­ter Nitin Gad­kari dur­ing his re­cent visit to the city. It has come as a wel­come de­ci­sion, par­tic­u­larly for pas­sen­gers who can now make use of the bridges af­ter it is fully con­structed. The Rail­way Over Bridges (ROBs) will be com­ing up at Khadki, Pim­pri and Tale­gaon, off the old Mumbai-Pune high­way. Some of the other routes where the ROBs have been fi­nalised in­clude Ka­traj-Kond­hwa, Theur Phata-Lonik­hand, Pune-Saswad, Tale­gaon-Chakan-Shikhara­pur, Lon­avala-Pune-She­lar­wadi and Pune-Daund. On an av­er­age, the cost of build­ing an ROB is any­where be­tween ` 25-30 Cr.
