Pune District to Construct 13 New Railway Bridges
Pune District has received a green nod from the Union Ministry for Road Transport, Highways and Shipping for constructing 13 new railway bridges in Pune district. The
decision was announced by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari during his recent visit to the city. It has come as a welcome decision, particularly for passengers who can now make use of the bridges after it is fully constructed. The Railway Over Bridges (ROBs) will be coming up at Khadki, Pimpri and Talegaon, off the old Mumbai-Pune highway. Some of the other routes where the ROBs have been finalised include Katraj-Kondhwa, Theur Phata-Lonikhand, Pune-Saswad, Talegaon-Chakan-Shikharapur, Lonavala-Pune-Shelarwadi and Pune-Daund. On an average, the cost of building an ROB is anywhere between ` 25-30 Cr.
