RED BY PURVA PARDESHI sorts out your bridal trousseau needs

Considering that creativity is a primary pre-requisite for a c o u t u r e d e s i g n e r, the RED by Purva Pardeshi studio serves a dual purpose of a workshop as well as a showroom for her clients. With a formal education in Fashion Designing from Symbiosis Institute of Design, Purva has also completed a Fashion Styling course from the London College of Style. She has created her brand awareness through educational institutes and teaching design subjects at INIFD and FAD. Since 2015, RED’s ensembles have been sported by celebrities like Raveena Tandon, Swara Bhaskar, Sonali Kulkarni, Pooja Sawant, Sai Tamhankar and many more. The brand also showcased its ‘Urban Warrior’ collection at the prestigious Pune Fashion Week held last year, after which Purva decided to take a hiatus. It was during this period that she focused more on the brand’s signature style and conducted a handful of photo-shoots to experiment with unusual fabrics, styles, drapes and much more. As far as the brand’s signature style goes, RED draws inspiration from everything around, but embroidery and surface ornamentation top the list. Her signature design is ensembles made using woven fabrics, such as brocades and fine silks. She loves experimenting with Indian embroidery by fusing it with Indo-Western cuts and silhouettes to create something contemporary, with a traditional twist that relates to her clients. Purva feels that the beauty of the Indian heritage lies in hand embroidery, that is why most of her designs are hand woven. On the brand’s personal growth front, the label’s most recent stint was a runway appearance at the India International Jewellery Week 2017, held at the St. Regis in Mumbai recently. With upcoming appearances and collections in the pipeline, RED looks forward to engaging in every opportunity it gets. In the words of Bill Blass, “When in doubt, wear RED!”
