MARKS & SPENCER LAUNCHES CLOTHES DONATION DRIVE
Marks & Spencer (M&S), the iconic British retailer, had announced the launch of its Clothes Exchange Programme in association with Goonj last month. The aim of the initiative was to encourage customers to recycle their clothes and help them live more sustainable lifestyles. M&S believes old clothes should have a future; they should be put together for a good cause, not just thrown out. It therefore launched the clothes donation drive, where customers brought their pre-loved clothing to M&S stores across India. In exchange, the customers received an M&S voucher worth ` 600 for their contribution. The programme was launched across 39 stores pan India, including Pune.
