BRTS Lanes To Be Built On Pune-Alandi Road

The civic body will cre­ate ded­i­cated Bus Rapid Tran­sit Sys­tem (BRTS) lanes on Pune-Alandi Road from Bop­khel phata at a cost of 4.78 crore, a BRTS Spokesper­son said. The civic body has widened the 6km Pune-Alandi Road to 60m, from Dut­tana­gar in Dighi to the bor­der with the neigh­bour­ing Alandi Mu­nic­i­pal Coun­cil. This road has 10 lanes, com­pris­ing two BRTS lanes hav­ing a width of 7m and a main car­riage­way of 9m width on both sides of the BRTS bus lanes. There is an 8.25m wide ser­vice road on both sides of the road. In ad­di­tion, there is a tree me­dian of 2.75m width be­tween the main car­riage­way and ser­vice road and a 2.5m wide cy­cle track, and 1.8 me­ter wide foot­path on both sides of the road. A civic of­fi­cial said the ded­i­cated BRTS bus lanes would come up af­ter in­stalling bar­ri­cades on the 4.8km road stretch.
