BRTS Lanes To Be Built On Pune-Alandi Road
The civic body will create dedicated Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) lanes on Pune-Alandi Road from Bopkhel phata at a cost of 4.78 crore, a BRTS Spokesperson said. The civic body has widened the 6km Pune-Alandi Road to 60m, from Duttanagar in Dighi to the border with the neighbouring Alandi Municipal Council. This road has 10 lanes, comprising two BRTS lanes having a width of 7m and a main carriageway of 9m width on both sides of the BRTS bus lanes. There is an 8.25m wide service road on both sides of the road. In addition, there is a tree median of 2.75m width between the main carriageway and service road and a 2.5m wide cycle track, and 1.8 meter wide footpath on both sides of the road. A civic official said the dedicated BRTS bus lanes would come up after installing barricades on the 4.8km road stretch.
