PCMC To Construct New Roads And Gardens In Peripheral Areas
After Charholi and Dighi, development works will be carried out in Chikhali, Rupinagar and Talawade IT Park, falling on the outskirts of Pimpri Chinchwad. Roads under the new Development Plan (DP) will be laid in these areas. An 18-metre wide road from Chikhali to Dehu-Alandi Road, to Dharmarajnagar will be constructed. Twenty-four-metre wide roads from Chikhali to Radhaswami Road, from Chikhali Sonawane Vasti to Chikhali junction and from Anath Ashram to Dehu-Alandi Road will be laid. From Chikhali Sane Chowk to Chikhali Chowk, a 30-metre wide road will be built, while an 18-metre wide road will come up from Chikhali to crematorium, Rupinagar, and Talwade IT Park. The estimated project cost is 14.39 crores. Besides this, a dedicated bus lane from Bopkhel Phata to Alandi Road is on the cards. At Charholi, as a pilot project, PCMC is keen on executing town-planning (TP) schemes on the lines of Ahmedabad. There is a need for implementing TP schemes in cities for planned development, civic officials said. PCMC has approved sewage and green space projects worth 151.32 crore in Charholi. As a result, gardens will be developed at Akurdi, Punawale and Charholi.
