HRD Ministry To Mull Accreditation For Schools
Accreditation for government schools like colleges have is being considered, Human Resource and Development (HRD) Minister Prakash Javadekar said last month. He was speaking at the 8th Bharatiya Chatra Sansad of MIT World Peace University. At present, National Assessment and Accreditation Council assesses and accredits higher education institutions in India. Based on the assessments, colleges are graded. Javadekar said, “If a school does not perform well, that school will not be accredited and it will be shut down for not meeting quality standards. It will help increase quality of education in India.” He also said that universal and good education is the goal of the ministry.
