its prom­ise to de­liver fresh fruit and veg­eta­bles every day, Star Bazaar has in­tro­duced au­then­tic Rat­na­giri Alphonso man­goes across its stores, all di­rectly from farms. For the first time in the in­dus­try, these Alphonso man­goes are packed in at­trac­tive boxes of 12 and 6, fea­tur­ing the farmer and his fam­ily who grew the man­goes, with their names, pic­ture and farm ad­dress form­ing a part of the larger nar­ra­tive around di­rect sourc­ing and au­then­tic qual­ity. Each box also car­ries a post­card that can be used by cus­tomers to send in their mes­sage to the farm­ers. These boxes are con­sid­ered ideal for gift­ing and fam­ily con­sump­tion. Star has also taken care to en­sure that the price points are af­ford­able. In a move to bring cus­tomers new and ex­cit­ing prod­ucts with a strong qual­ity prom­ise, Star has also launched or­ganic man­goes and man­goes from farms cer­ti­fied by GLOBAL G.A.P. (Good Agri­cul­tural Prac­tices). GLOBAL G.A.P. is a lead­ing farm as­sur­ance pro­gram that cer­ti­fies farms for re­spon­si­ble and sus­tain­able farm­ing meth­ods.
