BANARAS - THE REFLECTIONS – EXHIBITION OF PAINTINGS BY SACHIN SAWANT

Citadel - - EVENTS -

Art2Day had organized ‘Banaras – The Reflection’, an exhibition by young professional artist Sachin Sawant from Karjat. The exhibition was at Art2Day gallery on Bhandarkar Road, Pune. Many artists have been attracted to the majestic ghats of Banaras, and the magnetic pull of the great city trickles down the early morning sky and settles upon the landscape like vitalizing drops of dew, drawing many creative minds to it. In these paintings, you find the view of the boatman, meditating saint, boats sailing in the water and the ghat steps leading to the water and so on. The paintings were vibrant, energising and magnetic in pulling one towards these spiritual dhams. Sachin’s childhood life in the village inspired him to appreciate and create art. He has used oil on canvas and created photorealistic works, which are a beautiful fusion of reality and illusion. His colour palette predominantly consists of whites, blacks, browns, and ochres, which attribute a profound and sombre tone to his work. His brush strokes are well defined with attention to extreme detail. This was Sachin’s first solo show in Pune.
