Eicher partners with Bangalore International Airport
VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) is supporting a major expansion exercise undertaken by Bangalore International Airport Ltd (BIAL) for the earthworks of the second runway. The exercise is in connection with the second terminal (T2), and includes the second runway. Various corresponding upgrades are also a part of the exercise. A fleet of 46 Eicher Pro6025T tippers are being operated by two fleet operators, SVEC and RBR. SVEC is operating 30 units, and RBR is operating 16 units. For efficient support, VECV has set up a four-container on site service station, and a covered workshop that can accommodate four tippers at a time. Intended to cater to all type of aircraft in all weather conditions with an associated parallel taxiway, two cross field taxiways on the east connecting the new runway to the existing north runway, T1 apron, the project is expected to be completed by September 2019. The project commenced in February 2016.
