Ambee raises seed funding
The ambulance hailing platform, Ambee has raised seed funding from Uber Technologies Inc. to expand its business. The company, claim sources, has also raised funding from Amaya Capital LLP and some angel investors. The amount of investment was not disclosed by Ambee, which started operations in 2016. A technology platform that enables users to discover the nearest ambulances online, Ambee has tied up with private hospital operators and large ambulance owners to list their ambulances on its online platform. A B2B model that runs small B2C pilots, Ambee operates at Hyderabad and Bangalore. It plans to expand in five metros by the year end. Raising USD 200,000 funding from angel investors last year to design and build the product, the current round is expected to be used for validation; to install GPS in ambulances, and to strengthen the platform by adding more features.
