En­gi­neered to be a worka­holic – fer­ry­ing cargo over long dis­tances, heavy com­mer­cial ve­hi­cles are stag­ing a come­back in a form that is new, well en­gi­neered, ef­fi­cient and per­for­mance ori­ented. An in­trin­sic part of the hub and spoke trans­porta­tion model, heavy com­mer­cial ve­hi­cles are prov­ing to be fea­turein­ten­sive and tech­no­log­i­cally rich. The win­ner in this cat­e­gory, the BharatBenz 3723R aligns it­self ac­cu­rately with the mar­ket de­mand for higher ton­nage ve­hi­cles that are ef­fi­cient and cost com­pet­i­tive. Em­ploy­ing a 235 hp, 6.3-litre com­mon-rail six cylin­der turbo-diesel engine, the 3723R has a 37-tonne GVW. The 10x2 con­fig­u­ra­tion of the truck along with its di­men­sions presents it with an abil­ity to carry more and achieve a faster turn­around time. The engine, de­vel­op­ing 850 Nm of peak torque at 1200-1600 rpm, has the truck per­form well. Unique is the safety cabin, which is fully built. The other salient points of the truck in­clude clear lens head lamps with DRLs, high strength frame, AC op­tion, and a pusher rear axle. The trans­mis­sion is nine-speed, and the steer­ing is hy­drauli­cally as­sisted. The 380-litre diesel tank presents the truck with an abil­ity to cover a good deal of dis­tance be­tween re­fills.
