In Au­gust, I had sub­mit­ted an ap­pli­ca­tion of mo­bile num­ber port­ing from Air­tel to Idea. Air­tel took more than the ex­pected time to port, and that too af­ter I had reached their ap­pel­late author­ity. On 13 Septem­ber 2013, I sup­pos­edly got the last bill from Air­tel for Rs 409 and that was paid on Septem­ber 20. I have the re­ceipt of the same. Thereon, no bills were is­sued by the com­pany. How­ever, I re­ceived a let­ter dated 9 De­cem­ber 2013 from Idea stat­ing that Air­tel had in­ti­mated TRAI that I had not cleared my out­stand­ing bill to them. I won­der how Air­tel was ex­pect­ing me to clear the bill with­out shar­ing the same with me. When con­tacted, the cus­tomer care said that as I had cho­sen e-bill (bills via email) they could not mail me the bill af­ter I had ported to an­other ser­vice provider.
