Dur­ing the ser­vice visit of Dish TV, I bought a ‘ser­vice care pack’ worth Rs 299, as it of­fered free re­place­ment of set-top box, view­ing card, LNBF and align­ment for one year. When I re­al­ized that sig­nal re­cep­tion was not work­ing prop­erly, I called for the tech­ni­cian. He found a fault in the set-top box and asked me to pay for re­place­ment charges. When I told him about the ser­vice care pack, he said that it would be­come valid only af­ter one month of pur­chase – a fact that was hid­den at the time of sale of the pack. More­over, there is no doc­u­ment show­ing terms and con­di­tions where it is clar­i­fied that the ‘ser­vice pack’ be­comes ac­tive af­ter a month of pur­chase. Anil Ku­mar Gour
