In May 2014, I bought a win­dow AC of Voltas from Tushar Vi­sion, New Delhi. Right from the day of pur­chase, the AC has been shut­ting down on its own and takes an hour to restart. I made sev­eral com­plaints but the prob­lem con­tin­ues. I took up the mat­ter with the area ser­vice manager and re­quested him to re­place the faulty unit. The manager re­fused say­ing that their com­pany did not have any such pol­icy. He said they could re­pair but could not re­place it. He asked me to al­low the com­pany to take the unit to their work­shop for com­plete anal­y­sis. I agreed to that and re­quested for a standby unit. They, how­ever, re­fused to pro­vide with any standby unit. With two small chil­dren at home, one can imag­ine the sum­mer night­mares that the fam­ily must have gone through be­cause of a faulty air con­di­tioner. We in­vested our hard-earned money for some sim­ple com­fort but ended up with anx­i­ety and men­tal ha­rass­ment from Voltas.
