I have three Voda­fone con­nec­tions in my name. In Oc­to­ber, Voda­fone charged me Rs 2,700 for about 30 ISD calls on two num­bers, at the rate of Rs 50 per minute for each call. When I checked, I found that these calls were made to a fake num­ber. We were re­ceiv­ing reg­u­lar missed calls from this num­ber. My con­cerns are that we may have called these fake num­bers for a minute or two to find out their ori­gin, but none of these calls was made for 30 min­utes. Se­condly, we do not know of any coun­try to which a call­ing rate of Rs 50 per minute is ap­pli­ca­ble. How come we are be­ing charged Rs 50 per minute for these calls? Since we de­cided not to pay the bill for Oc­to­ber and re­quested for a re­view, Voda­fone barred their ser­vices on our num­bers. While the com­pany wants us to clear the dues, we want them to waive off the charges for the calls to those fake num­bers. While we are writ­ing to the con­cerned com­pany and await their re­vert, we re­quest you to raise the is­sue with their nodal of­fi­cer. If not re­solved, then you may raise the con­cern with their ap­pel­late au­thor­ity.
