At the same time, for con­sumers who can­not af­ford to buy bulk packs, ed­i­ble oils can be made avail­able in small packs of 100 ml/200 ml/500 ml ca­pac­ity. For Con­sumers Al­ways buy pack­aged items to be safe and to avoid adul­ter­ation. La­bel dec­la­ra­tion on packed food is very im­por­tant for know­ing the in­gre­di­ents and nu­tri­tional value. It also helps in check­ing the fresh­ness of the food and the ‘best be­fore’ pe­riod. Se­lec­tion of whole­some and non-adul­ter­ated food is es­sen­tial to make sure that the foods one con­sumes do not cause any health haz­ard. While it is not pos­si­ble to en­sure whole­some food only on vis­ual ex­am­i­na­tion since toxic con­tam­i­nants can be present at ppm/ppb level, vis­ual ex­am­i­na­tion of the food be­fore pur­chase can be a first level of check against pres­ence of in­sects, vis­ual fun­gus, for­eign mat­ters, etc. There­fore, due care taken by the con­sumer at the time of pur­chase can be of great help. Last and by no means the least, the con­sumer should avoid tak­ing food from an un­hy­gienic place and food be­ing pre­pared un­der un­hy­gienic con­di­tions. Such types of food may cause var­i­ous dis­eases. It is al­ways bet­ter to buy cer­ti­fied food from a re­puted shop.
