There have been a slew of di­rec­tions/guide­lines in the mat­ter of en­abling stu­dents to get ed­u­ca­tion loans faster as well as banks feel­ing safe in ex­tend­ing such loans to stu­dents (in spite of their sta­tus as non­earn­ing in­di­vid­u­als). These di­rec­tions/guide­lines are sum­marised be­low.

But the cost of home­bound travel is not part of the ex­ist­ing schemes of most banks (only a very few banks in­clude this as a part of their loan sanc­tion). Left to them­selves, stu­dents do not want to put the bur­den on their fam­i­lies to take this tab on their be­half – they would pre­fer that the bank in­cludes the cost of home­bound travel in the ed­u­ca­tion loan.
