Editor’s Letter

Cosmopolitan (India) - - EDITOR’S LETTER - Nandini Bhalla, Editor

When I speak to Cosmo girls about how they feel this time of the year, I often get told how stressed it makes them. “There’s just so much going on,” one reader told me, “and the anticipation and expectation is overwhelming!” I totally agree. December is like the Olympics of ‘living your life’, where you race to have the best time, be the best dressed in the room, and generally make the most of another year coming to an end. But those are the exact reasons your month should not be stressful—it should be fun! — and that’s where Cosmo can help.

Welcome to our Party Issue, put together with just one mission in mind—ensuring you have a great time this December. We’ve ID’D your three biggest party stressors— looking fabulous, throwing a great party, and talking to that hot guy across the room, and tackled them one by one. So we rounded up some of the industry’s most successful party hosts and asked them to spill their secrets (page 198). Then, on page 180, we compiled a list of extremely potent flirting techniques that even the most shy amongst us can use (most of them don’t even require you to say a word!). Then there are great ideas for party-night beauty looks, including this season’s Sexy Party Eye (page 94), and glamorous hair and make-up modelled by the lovely Sarah Jane Dias (page 258). And lastly (but really, the most important for many of us), the fashion team has put together an exhaustive list of party trends, featuring some of the season’s most head-turning dresses. Bottom line: we really want you to have a good time, and hope these features push you in that direction. In the words of Barney from How I Met Your Mother, [We hope] “it’ll be legendary!”

See you next year,
