How to Stand Out at a Party
Suneet Varma's tips on how to be the guaranteed head turner all night...
1 Dress it up:
Maxis are memory makers, as are metallic numbers in bronze or gold. For vintage inspiration, look for dresses in velvet, lace, or crochet. And remember, accessories tell the best stories.
2 Colour cues:
Boozy colours like burgundy, plum, or claret in short dresses or gowns are sure to inspire. For those of you with naturally olive- toned skin, matte gold, pinks and reds look good. You could also opt for a bright neon pink or yellow to make a statement.
3 Print pretty:
Make an entrance in a dramtic printed outfits. Geometric and graphic prints are retro chic; animal prints are a fashion- forward choice— there’s room for zebras, snake skins and bird prints, so take your pick.
4 Switch to strappy:
When everyone’s reaching for their pumps, don a pair of sexy, strappy heels. Black makes for a clean look, but if your outfit is otherwise simple, a pair of coloured sandals are totally notice- worthy.
5 Make an impact:
The easiest way to catch everyone's attention is to accessorise with cocktail rings and statement necklaces. A gorgeous bib necklace or striking bag are great conversation starters.
