6 Fungal nail fury

Cosmopolitan (India) - - BEAUTY -

“I’ve got a fungal nail infection”. Not the kind of thing you announce on a first date! An infected nail often looks thick and discoloured, with inflamed skin surrounding it. Although these infections can occur out of the blue, lecturer in podiatry Michael Harrison-Blount believes nails damaged by a traumatic event are most likely to become infected. “For mild to moderate infections, it’s worth trying an over-thecounter nail-paint treatment first,” he advises. “If your infection is severe, oral medication may be needed.” Keep nails cut short, but always cut the infected nail last.
