Be­cause it fea­tures a fe­male pro­tag­o­nist in an ac­tion-packed sce­nario—a for­mula that hasn’t re­ally worked very well be­fore. But, as it turns out, there are a num­ber of block­buster films rul­ing the roost this year, prov­ing this school of thought to­tally wrong.
