It’s great to be outgoing, but you do realise that other people live here too, don’t you? You’ll never know it from all the selfies in your Instagram feed! “People with an inflated sense of self often put their own needs first, to the detriment of key relationships in their lives,” says Jean Twenge, Ph.D., a psychology professor at San Diego State University and author of Generation Me. If people sense that you’re always pushing your own agenda, they pull away. Don’t let that happen. “Notice how many of your posts are all about you,” says Twenge. If the answer is most, include your friends in your updates, and post about what you’ve read or seen. Broaden your perspective, and let the world in!
