Blend or process the gar­lic, nuts, grated cheese and basil un­til smooth. Grad­u­ally add the oil in a thin, steady stream, pro­cess­ing un­til thick. Cook the pasta in a large pan of boil­ing wa­ter, un­til just ten­der; drain, re­serv­ing 1/4 cup of

cooking liq­uid. Com­bine the spaghetti, pesto, and re­served cooking liq­uid in a large bowl. Serve with the

flaked parme­san.
