When did you de­cide you wanted to be a stylist?

“I’ve loved fash­ion mag­a­zines and as­pired to work in one since I was 12! I knew I wanted to be a stylist dur­ing my last year at NIFT.”

Be­ing a stylist is your dream job be­cause...

“I love vi­su­al­is­ing the larger pic­ture, ref­er­enc­ing fash­ion his­tory or pop cul­ture. We be­come vis­ual story tellers. It al­lows me to col­lab­o­rate and work with some

im­mensely tal­ented people.”

What does it take to be a suc­cess­ful stylist?

“A good aes­thetic, a sense of style, and knowl­edge of fash­ion. You need lots of en­ergy to be able to work the long hours.”

What is your ad­vice to some­one who hopes to be­come a stylist?

“Stay fo­cused and make sure you’re work­ing purely for the love of fash­ion. Be pre­pared to learn some­thing new ev­ery day!”
