Nu­cleya Udyan Sa­gar, 34 Genre: “Global Bass.” Started DJing in: “1999, when I was about 20 years old.”

Favourite fe­male DJ: “San­dunes—she’s an amaz­ing pro­ducer, too.”

Played at: “Glas­ton­bury, Elec­tron, Bac­ardi NH7 Week­ender and now the Sak­ifo mu­sic fes­ti­val.”

Mu­si­cal in­flu­ences: “My dad used to play a lot of In­dian mu­sic at home when I was a kid. And then I started lis­ten­ing to The Chem­i­cal Broth­ers and Prodigy. I was a huge fan of the Asian un­der­ground mu­sic move­ment, too.”

How I prep for a set: “I usu­ally ask my friends to record a voice sam­ple in the style of a Bol­ly­wood di­a­logue, and I start my sets with those.”

What’s next: “Just re­leased my lat­est EP, Koocha Mon­ster Remix. Also a project with Benny Dayal for Sony Mu­sic which should be on TV soon.” Check out Nu­cleya’s

Genre: “In­die Elec­tron­ica.” Started mak­ing

mu­sic: “I started play­ing the guitar at age 9, and pro­duc­ing my own elec­tronic mu­sic when I was 19.”

“...is boom­ing right now and is a lot of fun to be a part of. I was ex­cited when I got to open for Dead­mau5 and Fat­boy Slim.” What peo­ple iden­tify with and re­mem­ber when I’m play­ing... “I play the guitar live! Also, there’s a lot of hy­per-ac­tive head bang­ing.”

mu­sic: “In high school! And we picked up some turntable skills in col­lege in the US. We’ve been more ac­tive on the live cir­cuit in the last two years.”

Anant: “Dr. Dre was prob­a­bly one of my ear­li­est in­flu­ences, in terms of pro­duc­tion.” Neal: “Artists like Dr. Dre, Eminem and Snoop Dogg. I am al­ways in­spired by mu­sic that has amaz­ing beats and melodies.”
