Cosmopolitan (India) - - YOU, YOU, YOU -

feel unready for commitment? You see, some questions provoke other questions instead of answers. You and your boyfriend hold the answer to this question. Sincerely and without anger, talk about his occasional chills and what causes them. Private conversation, not public display, is the greatest gauge of love.

Q: I’ve just started a new job away from my hometown and moved into a shared house with some other girls. They’re really friendly and sociable; already they’re talking about throwing a big party, which sounds great. The thing is, I hardly ever drink as I enjoy my outings better without alcohol. How can I tell them without them judging me? A:

If they need to know you don’t drink before they notice it for themselves, announce it without the slightest implication of criticism of their own drinking habits. You could honestly say that drinking disagrees with you rather than you with it. Let them see you having a good time alcohol-free. As nothing defuses ill-will like a good laugh, you could even tell them you’re auditioning as their ‘designated driver’. As long as you don’t make an issue of abstaining from booze, they won’t either.

Q: I’ve heard that capes are really big right now, but I don’t know what I’m supposed to pair one with? A:

Capes appear tricky, but in truth, they’re very versatile. Play it like Blake Lively— over a knit dress, stockings and ankle boots, or like Victoria Beckham—classic and chic. Oh, also, there are some rules... It helps to balance the billowy-ness of a cape with skinny pants underneath. It’s also smart to consider texture—a wool cape is perfect for day; a silk one (with jewels) will soon be your evening BFF.
