Dell Venue tablets

Dell has launched its Venue range of tablets. While its Venue 7 and Venue 8 are tar­geted at the con­sumer seg­ment, the Venue 8 Pro and Venue 11 Pro are meant for en­ter­prise cus­tomers.

The Venue 7 and 8 sport an IPS dis­play of 1,200×800 p res­o­lu­tion. The Venue 7 is pow­ered by a dual core Clover Trail-based In­tel Atom Z2560 1.6 GHz pro­ces­sor and has 16 GB in­ter­nal stor­age along with 2 GB RAM. The Venue 8 is pow­ered by a dual core In­tel Atom 1.8 GHz or 2.0 GHz Z2580 pro­ces­sor, comes with 16 GB or 32 GB in­ter­nal stor­age ex­pand­able up to 64 GB and 128 GB, re­spec­tively, and has 2 GB RAM. Both the Venue 7 and 8 run on An­droid Jelly Bean.

While Venue 7 fea­tures a 3 MP rear cam­era and VGA front cam­era, the Venue 8 fea­tures a 5 MP rear cam­era and a 2 MP front cam­era. Both in­clude a 4,100 mAh bat­tery which can pro­vide HD video play­back of 10 hours.

The con­nec­tiv­ity op­tions for the con­sumer tablets in­clude Wi-Fi and Blue­tooth 3.0. The tablets come pre loaded with Pock­etCloud which al­lows users to search, edit and share data from any de­vice any­where.

The Venue 8 Pro has a quad-core 1.8 GHz In­tel Atom pro­ces­sor with in­te­grated HD graph­ics along with 2 GB RAM. It has in­ter­nal stor­age of 16 GB ex­pand­able up to 32 GB via a mi­croSD card. The de­vice sports a 5 MP cam­era on the rear and a 1.2 MP cam­era at the front. Bat­tery life is rated at 9.9 hours.

The Venue 11 Pro sports a 10.8-inch dis­play with a 1,920x1,080 p res­o­lu­tion and sup­port for 10-point multi-touch. It runs on 4th gen­er­a­tion In­tel Core i3 and i5 pro­ces­sors with 64 GB in­ter­nal stor­age ex­pand­able up to 128 GB. It has an 8 MP cam­era on the rear and a sec­ondary 2 MP front-fac­ing we­b­cam. Both the en­ter­prise tablets run on Win­dows 8.1; of­fer se­cu­rity with pre loaded firmware TPM and Dell data pro­tec­tion and en­cryp­tion se­cu­rity tools. Con­nec­tiv­ity op­tions in­clude a USB 3.0 port, mini HDMi video port, dual-band Wi-Fi, Blue­tooth 4.0 and near field com­mu­ni­ca­tion for easy pair­ing of wire­less ac­ces­sories. Their bat­tery life is es­ti­mated to be 8 and 10 hours re­spec­tively.

The Venue 7 is priced at ` 10,999, the Venue 8 at ` 17,499, and the Venue 8 Pro at ` 26,499. The price for Venue 11 Pro has not yet been an­nounced. Dell will pro­vide a 1-year carry-in war­ranty for Venue 7, ac­ci­den­tal dam­age pro­tec­tion for Venue 8, and ad­vance ex­change war­ranty and ac­ci­den­tal dam­age pro­tec­tion for Venue 8 Pro and Venue 11 Pro.
