ASIRT mega Tech­day


ASIRT re­cently con­cluded its mega Tech­day event in Mum­bai. The first ses­sion in­tro­duced mem­bers to the busi­ness soft­ware al­liance por­tal called Ver­afirm, and the ben­e­fits of us­ing the ven­dor-in­de­pen­dent soft­ware as­set man­age­ment tool.

An­other im­por­tant ses­sion was by Narinder Singh, Sec­tion Of­fi­cer, Bureau of In­dian Stan­dards (BIS), who spoke about the re­cent amend­ments brought about by the govern­ment with re­gard to the IT hard­ware pol­icy. Mem­bers were re­lieved to know that PCs are not be­ing added to the list of hard­ware re­quired to un­dergo BIS cer­ti­fi­ca­tion.

Asus In­dia show­cased its pre­mium desk­top— VivoTab. Swap­nil Bharate, Prod­uct Man­ager, Desk­top Busi­ness, Asus, ex­plained how mem­bers can lever­age the de­vice to ex­pand busi­ness. A high­light of the evening was a ses­sion by Ramesh Soni, a la­bor law ex­pert. Soni dealt with im­por­tant as­pects of the var­i­ous la­bor laws un­der the Shop and Es­tab­lish­ment Act and the Bonus Act.
