“Keep raising the bar”
Manish Sharma, Managing Director, Panasonic India, is responsible for strategic planning and business development across the company’s consumer and enterprise divisions. His career spans nearly 18 years in companies like LG, Samsung and Haier If not in the IT industry: I would have joined the FMCG industry.
Biggest passion: To drive success and keep raising the bar all the time. Behind the wheel: I love SUVs for their tough looks and exceptional road presence. Gadgets I can’t live without: Panasonic smartphone P51 and the Panasonic ultrabook. Weekends are for: Spending time with family, and catching up with friends. Favorite holiday destination: I like Dubai because of the beaches and deserts.
Hate the most: Hypocrisy.
Favorite movie: Life of Pi.
Favorite stars: Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif. Role models: Kounosuke Matsushita, Founder, Panasonic, who is known for his outstanding management and leadership skills. I also admire Ratan Tata for his foresight and commitment to the Indian consumers. Ultimate ambition: To make Panasonic the most trusted consumer durable brand in India.
Wildest thing I have ever done: I am yet to do it.
Thing I most want to do: Spend more time with my family. If I became the PM: I would concentrate on strengthening the manufacturing sector by creating clusters especially near ports. Celebrity I would like to spend a day with: Amitabh Bachchan, to understand how he maintains the highest levels of discipline and energy. One person I would like to meet, and why: Richard Branson, to know how his management style complements his personality. Deepest and darkest fear: A life without family and friends.
